I'm an astronomer at the University of Colorado. I specialize in constructing instruments for ground-based and space flight telescopes and in the study of black hole and neutron star interacting binary systems. In my spare time, I read, garden, cook, and enjoy the great Colorado outdoors.
I'm not sure what that little island of tan is about.. the one right over Austin/Georgetown... it sure doesn't feel anything but high .. so I sort of know what you're going through..
Also note the orange finger of doom creeping over southern Nebraska just enough to cover Omaha and Lincoln but apparently not the non-metro areas. My folks are laying in a supply of Kleenex in advance, perhaps...
